In a way, toric contact lenses can correct and help you with your astigmatism. On the contrary, the regular contact lenses can not make that. Astigmatism is a defect that prevents the eye from focusing sharply. However, the toric contact lenses can provide two curvatures at different angels to compensate for astigmatism. When you wear them, you will just feel that you are wearing normal contact lenses, so there is no need to worry about other bad symptoms, ok? Oh, right, if your astigmatism is under 0.75, you can just wear normal contacts. Hope this helped.

May I know that whether your astigmatism is serious or not? And there is another situation, a patient only have astigmatism in one eye. And according to your description, I guess that you may be in this condition. That is why you need one toric contact lens and one normal contact lens. Seen from the outward appearance, toric lens is as soft as the regular one. But there surely are differences between the two. Unlike regular contact lens, the toric contact lens is not spherically symmetric. As a result, when your eyeball move, a toric contact lens will just keep in the same orientation. If you have more questions, please let me know.sp
